SYRIAN  POWs  IN  ISRAELI  PRISONS

 
     
 
Hayel Abu Zeid was born in Majdal Shams in 1968. He participated in the resistance movement between 1984 and 1985, was arrested on 18/8/1985 and sentenced to 27 years in prison.
Soudqi Al Maqt was born in Majdal Shams in 1967. He partcipated in attacks against Israeli occupation forces in the Golan. He was arrested on 23/8/1985 and sentenced to 27 years.
Bishr Al Maqt was born in Majdal Shams in 1965. He was arrested on 11/8/1985 and sentenced to 27 years.
Assem Al Wali is a resident of the Golan who was born in northwestern Syria in 1967 and returned to his hometown of Majdal Shams in 1971. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Damascus and dedicated many of his art works to the Golan and the Palestinian cause. He was arrested by the Israeli army on 23/8/1985 and sentenced to 27 years.
Saytan Al Wali was born in Majdal Shams in 1966. He was also arrested on 23/8/1985 and was sentenced to 27 years.
Amal Ouwaydat was born in Majdal Shams in 1967. He participated in many attacks against Israeli army posts and against an Israeli settlement that was built on the ruins of Jebata Al-Zeit, a Syrian village. He was arrested in 1997 and sentenced to 7 years and a half.
Yasser Khanjar was born in Majdal Shams in 1976, was arrested in 1997 and was sentenced to 27 years. While in prison, he wrote many poems that were published in Palestinian newspapers.
Wi'am Ammasheh was born in Baqaata in 1981. He was only 17 when he was first arrested in 1998 for setting fire to an Israeli Police post. Shortly after his release in 1999, he was arrested again for participating in resistance activities. He was sentenced to 5 years.
عباس عماشةAbbas Ammasheh was born in Baqaata in 1983. He was arrested in 2000 and spent one year and a half in prison, but was arrested again in 2003.
Kameel Khater was born in Majdal Shams in 1976. He was arrested in 2001 for trying to help the Palestinians with arms and military equipment during the Intifada. It was reported that he was tortured by the Israeli army before being sentenced to 8 years in the prison of Shatta.
Amal Mahmoud was born in Majdal Shams in 1961. A mother of a 20-year-old man, she was arrested for being a member of a secret cell that provided help to the Palestinians during the Intifada. She was sentenced to 5 years.
Sham Shams was born in Baqaata in 1982. He was arrested in 1999 and sentenced to 3 years. Shortly after his release in 2002, he was arrested again for trying to kidnap an Israeli soldier.
سميح سمارةSamih Sara was born in Majdal Shams in 1979. In 2001, he was accused of helping the Palestinian intifada and was sentened to 3 years.
Kamal Al Wali was born in Baqaata in 1983. He was accused for participating in resistance activities and was jailed in 2003.
