Introduction
Never had an event succeeded in uniting Arab peoples like the Palestinian Intifada did in the past few weeks. Armed with faith, hope and stones, Palestinian people defied one of the strongest armies in the world. Pictures of the uprising, and especially the picture of the 12-year-old Mohammad al-Durra being murdered in the arms of his father by cold-blooded Israeli soldiers, have shaken the world and attracted its attention to the continuous Palestinian suffering.
In Syria, like in other Arab countries, the intifada has entered every home and become part of the Syrian daily life, thanks to internet, Sattellite TV and the information revolution. In this special section, Damascus Online tries to present the intifada, not only as a Palestinian cause, but as a Syrian, Arab and human cause too. Our 'Intifada Special' includes articles, poems, songs and pictures, and tries to help you support the intifada by simple possible means.
