Aranaout, Abdul-Kadir (1936-1992): Syrian artist and poet who greatly contributed to the Syrian artistic life. Born in Damascus. He studied Decoration in Rome and Paris. Back in Syria, he worked in graphic design and was one of the pioneers in the advertising field. He was also a professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University. His poetic works include Ramad 'Ala Ard Barida (Ash on Cold Grounds- 1976).
