Ballan, Fahd (1933-1997): Syrian singer. He traveled to Egypt and worked with Syrian composer Farid al-Atrash. He married Egyptian actress Mariam Fakhreddin and had an acting career. Most of his songs were performed in the local dialect of Horan region in Southern Syria. His most famous songs include "'Al Bal Bo'dak Ya Sahl Horan", "Rkebna 'al Housan" and "Maqdarshi 'ala Kida".
