Jablah: Syrian small port on the Mediterranean, Lattakia Governorate. It was built by the Phoenicians, occupied by the Assyrians, Romans (64 BC) and finally the Arabs in 636. It was captured by the Templars in 1098 and became one of the main supply ports for the Crusaders. It was liberated by Sultan Qalawoon 1285. Among the town's most important historical monuments are the world's fifth largest Roman amphitheater, and two ancient mosques.
