Press Room

"The Palestinian Al Aqsa Intifada has produced a whole new spate of nationalist songs, art and slogans.  Now it has also produced its own video game. Syrian M. M. Hamza created "The Stonethrowers" in dedication to the Palestinians who have died in the nearly three months of clashes with the Israeli army. The game is an electronic version of real life. Armed with stones, fists and well-aimed kicks, the gameplayer faces off against Israeli soldiers and their weapons - all against the backdrop of the Al Aqsa Mosque. After congratulating you for playing well, the game closes with the reminder that the "real world" is one where the Israeli army is winning."
